Fig. 12 – Inner View of Three Phase Unbalanced type Servo Based Voltage Stabilizers Uses/ Advantages of Servo Based Voltage Stabilizer R v provides a bias current for both the Zener diode and the transistor. The current in the diode is minimal when the load current is maximal. The circuit designer must choose a minimum voltage that can be tolerated across R v, bearing in mind that the higher this voltage requirement is, the higher the required input voltage U in, and hence the lower the efficiency of the regulator. On the other hand, lower values of R v lead to higher power dissipation in the diode and to inferior regulator characteristics. [4] The collector voltage of Q1 is applied to the base of Q2. Thus, Q2 and Q3 become OFF becausethe transistor acts as a digital switch here. A simple voltage/current regulator can be made from a resistor in series with a diode (or series of diodes). Due to the logarithmic shape of diode V-I curves, the voltage across the diode changes only slightly due to changes in current drawn or changes in the input. When precise voltage control and efficiency are not important, this design may be fine. Since the forward voltage of a diode is small, this kind of voltage regulator is only suitable for

The ferroresonant transformer, ferroresonant regulator or constant-voltage transformer is a type of saturating transformer used as a voltage regulator. These transformers use a tank circuit composed of a high-voltage resonant winding and a capacitor to produce a nearly constant average output voltage with a varying input current or varying load. The circuit has a primary on one side of a magnet shunt and the tuned circuit coil and secondary on the other side. The regulation is due to magnetic saturation in the section around the secondary. So the voltage stability and accuracy decide the correct operation of the equipment. Voltage stabilizers therefore ensure that the voltage fluctuations at the incoming power supply does not affect the load or electrical appliance. How Voltage Stabilizer Works? R v = min V R min I D + max I L / ( h FE + 1 ) , {\displaystyle R_{\text{v}}={\frac {\min V_{R}}{\min I_{\text{D}}+\max I_{\text{L}}/(h_{\text{FE}}+1)}},}A stabilizer can also provide additional protection like overload and phase failure depending on the specification from the manufacturer. Output voltage varies about 1.2% for every 1% change in supply frequency. For example, a 2Hz change in generator frequency, which is very large, results in an output voltage change of only 4%, which has little effect for most loads. Load regulation is the change in output voltage for a given change in load current (for example, "typically 15mV, maximum 100mV for load currents between 5mA and 1.4A, at some specified temperature and input voltage"). The success of any electronic project depends on how well-defined the voltage of every point is. A Zener diode circuit is the best option to design a compact and powerful voltage regulator. 2. Simple Overvoltage Protection Circuit | High Voltage Cut Off

This simple circuit only requires a Zener diode and a passive electronic element- resistor. The Zener diode works as a regulator and is used in any small or big-scale project to regulate the voltage of any point inside the circuit. This regulated voltage output is essential for the circuit to control the voltage of any point. Inrush current or input surge current or switch-on surge is the maximum, instantaneous input current drawn by an electrical device when first turned on. Inrush current usually lasts for half a second, or a few milliseconds, but it is often very high, which makes it dangerous because it can degrade and burn components gradually (over months or years), especially if there is no inrush current protection. Alternating current transformers or electric motors in automatic voltage regulators may draw and output several times their normal full-load current for a few cycles of the input waveform when first energized or switched on. Power converters also often have inrush currents much higher than their steady state currents, due to the charging current of the input capacitance. The output voltage from the stabilizer will stay in the range of 220V or 230V in case of single phase supply and 380V or 400V in case of three phase supply, within given fluctuating range of input voltage. Linear regulators are based on devices that operate in their linear region (in contrast, a switching regulator is based on a device forced to act as an on/off switch). Linear regulators are also classified in two types:

Since the stabilizers are rated in kVA, it is also possible to calculate the wattage by simply multiplying voltage of the appliance by maximum rated current.

For 1.5 ton Inverter AC: A stabilizer for 1.5 ton inverter AC is a device that regulates the voltage of the AC and protects it from voltage fluctuations. The stabilizer should have a power rating of around 2000 VA or 2 kVA, the maximum power the AC can consume. The stabilizer should also have a wide voltage range, a digital display, an LED indicator, an audible alarm, a bypass switch, and a built-in protection system.

It protects the equipment or machine against over voltage, under voltage, and other voltage surges. Similarly, the voltage rise causes the microprocessor circuit to send PWM pulses in such a way that converter will output a deviated amount voltage, which is 180 degrees out of phase with incoming voltage.
