Description

It was first made in 2006 by adding Rangpur limes, an exotic citrus fruit from India, to Tanqueray London Dry Gin. This created the exotic flavour of zesty lime and juicy mandarin oranges, with a hint of ginger and bay leaves. A Rangpur Lime isn’t really a lime. It’s known as a Canton lemon in some parts of the world— but it’s not a lemon either. It’s a hybrid of a mandarin orange and a citron. ( Citrus × limonia). Its flesh is orange, the fruit highly acidic and the flavor is perhaps closer to a citron than any of the above. It’s used in place of a lime in some culinary applications because its high acidity; however, to summarize it’s best simply stated: a Rangpur Lime is truly its own thing.

Flavor: Moderate to full body with vibrant bitter orange peel early (think Marmalade, but a touch less sweet). Becomes more dry as it sits on palate. Pine-note juniper and earthy licorice root lend some classic gin color towards the end. Tanqueray Rangpur Distilled Gin is a zesty gin, distilled four times to ensure quality. Rangpur limes are added to create flavours of juicy lime and mandarin oranges, with a hint of ginger. Tanqueray Rangpur is best enjoyed in a copa glass with premium tonic water, plenty of ice and a generous wedge of lime. Classic London Dry botanicals of juniper, coriander, angelica and liquorice are perfectly balanced with Rangpur limes, ginger and bay leaves to create a zesty and refreshing gin with a citrus twist. Inspired by Charles Tanqueray´s innovative spirit, Tanqueray Rangpur Distilled Gin was created in 2006. It has won many awards including Gold at the prestigious San Francisco World Spirits CompetitionTanqueray Rangpur Distilled Gin is distilled four times to create a smooth taste and to allow the flavours to shine through. But what makes Tanqueray so special? It all starts with the botanicals. Tanqueray is made with a unique blend of four botanicals: juniper, coriander, angelica root, and liquorice.

Tanquery Gin was first distilled almost 200 years ago, in 1830 by Charles Tanqueray. Over the years, it has become one of the highest-selling gins in the world. This gin also has the privilege of being a Royal Warrant Holder, appointed by Her Majesty the Queen. The gin itself though is conservative in its approach. It begins as Tanqueray’s London Dry Gin and its scant four botanicals, then adds bitter orange essence and other natural flavors/colors. Tasting Notes In accordance with a report by The Spirits Business, Tanqueray was the highest selling gin in the world for 2016, with nearly three million nine-litre cases sold. [5] Products [ edit ] Tanqueray London Dry, Rangpur, and No. TenFlavor: Slightly sweet in impression and quite citrus forward. The citrus is complex and could be described as having hints of lemon, tangerine and even grapefruit. Green juniper with slight pine facets comes in late. Hints of laurel, coriander and licorice round it out. In this review of Tanqueray, you’ll learn all about this spirit, including the following topics (use the links below to “jump” to a specific section): Bartenders would be advised to treat Tanqueray Rangpur Lime Gin as a specialty citrus-forward gin. Mixed, its citrus profile complements fresh citrus quite well. Try it in a Gimlet, Tom Collins or an Evans style Gin and Tonic.

The Cameron Bridge Distillery is an all-in-one facility. The wheat-neutral-spirit that is the base of this gin is produced in another area of the complex. Most gin producers bring in this base through a third party. By producing the spirit themselves, it allows a greater consistency before infusing the botanicals and immediately distilling the liquor. Tanqueray starts the process immediately to avoid “stewing” the botanicals. Tanqueray is a London dry gin, reflecting its distillation process and origin in Bloomsbury, London. London dry gin is made by double distilling grain, with select botanicals added during the second distillation. While the Tanqueray recipe is a closely guarded trade secret, it is known to contain four botanicals: juniper, coriander, angelica root and liquorice, all common botanicals in gin productions overall. Tanqueray is a brand of gin produced by Diageo plc. It originated in London. While it does not command a sizable market share in its native market, its largest market is the United States.Tanqueray Rangpur Gin was introduced in Maryland, Delaware, and Washington, D.C. in the summer of 2006. It has a strong citrus flavor, the result of rangpur limes, ginger, and bay leaves added during the final distillation process. It is produced at 82.6 proof (41.3% abv) and is now available throughout the United States and Canada. It is named after city of Rangpur from where the names of the citrus also came. Just like the label states, this gin is distilled four times. There are two different types of water used in the process, adding a more significant profile to the flavors. One water is extracted from a deep well on the distillery grounds, the other is demineralized water. The two blended together mirror the London water originally used in distilling. Tanqueray Rangpur Distilled Gin is named after an exotic lime which originates from India. Tanqueray Rangpur is a unique gin with a citrus twist
