There are limitless designs you can make with melty beads! You can make basic items like ornaments and coasters (because they are plastic, they repel water!). You can glue them together. You can make 3D items. And there’s no mess.

For adults, it’s all about relaxing. They remind me of adult coloring, except with beads instead of pencils. I find that you have to be very mindful when you use hama beads. I love them! The Perler Bead Process Perler beads (you might call Hama beads, or fusible beads) are a super fun craft activity for kids from age 6 right up to adults. There are even jumbo fusible bead options so even preschoolers can have fun making some simple perler bead crafts. Getting crafty with Perler bead is a great activity if you have a group of kids of different ages and interests, and it’s the perfect tween and teen craft too. I always make sure our creations are completely melted and fused together and once cooled down I then remove them from the pegboard. They also have a shiny look once fused, whereas perler beads have a more matte finish.Mix and match your favourite fruits together to make a fruit salad keyring! If you are looking to buy a pegboard or two I'd recommend starting with a square, hexagonal and circular board as these will allow you to create a wide range of designs. The pegboards can be used over and over again, as long as you are careful not to over iron your projects (see more ironing tips for Hama beads below) Perler beads are made from food-grade LDPE (Low-density polyethylene), which gives them a low melting point for easy fusing and means they can also be used for projects such as cake toppers! I have also on some of our designs used Mod Podge to coat over the finished product just to give it a bit extra strength. When Hama Beads Can Be Used We ended up with so many Hama Beads creations that we started to look into what to do with them all. Here are some of our favourite Hama Beads Ideas that are easy to make and look great. Hama Bead Fridge Magnets It's a matter of personal preference as to how much you iron the beads. I like to leave the holes in the beads visible but some people like a smoother look. Just be careful not to over iron as this will make the beads impossible to remove from the board, and may warp and damage the board. We’ve been doing a lot of Halloween perler beads lately, so we decided to try a TON of pumpkin perler bead patterns! I’m excited to share them with you. There are a bunch of ideas, and I’m excited to share them with you today! With your eyelet tool, punch a hole in your fruit shapes, insert and affix the eyelet as per manufacturers instructions. You may need to cut away a little bit of the plastic to accommodate the eyelet. Hama Beads are easy to use; I have even had a 3-year-old who has put the Hama beads onto the pegboards when I was childminding. Obviously, the ironing part is an adult-only job. Great Activity
