About this deal

If you are looking for an all in one 360 camera for shooting high quality virtual tours then the Theta Z1 is still the camera I recommend. The Z1 is capable of shooting very high quality images which can be further improved if you utilise the Dual Fish Eye Plugin. Considering the cost and ease of use this is the camera I would go to if I needed to create high quality virtual tours at volume.

Both cameras have in-built Wi-Fi which means that you can connect to a phone and control the camera via the compatible APP. The hashtag #theta360 can now be added from "theta360.com" – "SNS Share" in the menu when posting images to social networking services. The number of photos and time are guides only. The actual number differs according to the photography conditions.OLED Panel 0.93 inch Organic light emitting display Panel , 128 x 36 dots, Automatic brightness adjustment function Wireless Communications Standard The Theta Z1 has four microphones for recording audio in what Ricoh calls Spatial Audio. The Max has six microphones dotted on the camera to offer spherical stereo audio. Still image, Video: Auto, Aperture priority, Shutter priority, ISO priority, Manual *3 Live Streaming : Auto Step 5: In Theta Z1 Stitcher, tap on the pencil icon on the bottom right, and select Start Lens Calibration. In the following screen, scroll down and tap on the button Proceed to begin the calibration. The Z1's magnesium body also feels solid, though the camera is not water-resistant, as is the case with the GoPro Max.

Stitching on these sample photos looks very smooth, and although there is a drop in sharpness very close to the stitch line, it has far better consistency of sharpness compared to the Theta V or previous Thetas which had a noticeable decrease toward the stitch line. In this crop from the beach shot, we can see that the stitching is not only smooth, but that you can see fine details such as the threads on the beach towel, even at the stitch line. The nadir of the beach photo shows excellent stitching and detail Ricoh has made a step in competing with professional cameras like DSLR in providing good image quality by incorporating advanced photography technology.GoPro Max can take both spherical and regular photos. 360-degree photos are captured with a maximum of 18 megapixels then later stitches to produce 16.6 megapixels photos. Here is another low light example shot with the Theta Z1, this time in London. You can see the difference in quality compared to the Theta V as well as the difference between shooting in JPEG and RAW. You can immediately see that the Theta Z1 shoots much better images than the Theta V in JPEG mode, but when shot in RAW mode the Theta Z1 is leagues ahead. The RAW mode photo displays hugely improved dynamic range with far greater details revealed in the shadows.
