Let us know in the comments of our Facebook Hobby Group, or our new Discord server, and make sure you enter the latest monthly giveaway for FREE today! Parties, festival parade, just join the cavalcade! The party never ends with the debauched followers of the Prince of Excess. Let’s see who’s here for a great time; The Christmas Battleforces are here, accompanied by a Rohan Stronghold in a box, and one very swish looking Praetor for The Horus Heresy.

The fierce eyes of a Sister Dogmata command this force, which is composed of five Celestian Sacresants, 10 Battle Sisters, an Immolator armed transport, and a mighty Exorcist tank. So, while those rumors were fake, Space Marines are super likely, but on the other end of the spectrum, we’re definitely not getting Leagues of Votann, Imperial Guard, or World Eaters. Obviously, there were some rumors disproven about what armies will actually be included for Battleforces in 2022, but there’s plenty to see now for what is coming this year for Christmas! Orks know what they like, and they like fighting. Anything that makes them faster, shootier, or choppier is fair game, and the Killdakka Warband is made up of all sorts of Boyz armed with whatever they can find to krump their foes with. The main event next week is Battleforces, massive boxes containing a wealth of units for a faction. They’re the ideal place to start a new army for the new year , or to expand an existing force. There are 10 boxes (count ‘em) split between Warhammer 40,000 and Warhammer Age of Sigmar. First up, everyone’s favourite grim future gets six boxes. Meanwhile the Sybarite Blade-Carnival is a celebration of Slaaneshi sensuality and slaughter with thirty different miniatures from the mortal ranks of Slaanesh’s chosen.

Do you like Intercessors? Good, then this box is for you. 25 of the 29 models in this battleforce are some flavor of Intercessor, whether your preference be assault, chunky, or vanilla. Rounding out the box are three Bladeguard Veterans, the least interesting Primaris Captain, and a Storm Speeder for folks who are curious about how long a T6 flyer with no invulnerable save will survive. The box is okay. Not great, not terrible. Existing Space Marine players likely already have more than enough Intercessors, but it’s a perfectly legitimate Patrol for the Astartes curious. At least for me it would have been more appealing had the box gone all-in on being a big boy heavy force, perhaps with Eradicators, more Heavy Intercessors, and the original boltstorm gauntlet Gravis Captain. As it stands I recommend looking instead at the various Combat Patrol boxes, which are close to the same value and contain much more interesting units. Final Verdict: Skip It The Mortal Realms are also getting significant reinforcements this week. And we start with a bunch of draculas in the form of the Soulblight Gravelords’ Revenant Legion, who have a truly massive box containing 66 miniatures. Many of them are Deadwalker Zombies, but you also get Blood Knights and a Vengorian Lord in among the other goodies. Wielding the magic of Hysh, none bring light to the darkest nights of the year quite like Luminath Realm-Lords. Leading us past the solstice are;The jury is out on the value of these as we haven’t seen the prices yet, but anything in the ballpark of last year makes these sets a steal. Overwhelm your opponent with the explosive might of the Space Marines. This is a Battleforce that hits hard and fast thanks to a Storm Speeder and 29 Primaris Space Marines, including some fairly chunky Gravis-armoured battle brothers.

So expect more on these very soon, and get ready to save those hobby dollars for what is normally the first week of December release date! What We Know About Warhammer Battleforces Since 2016 While those of you in the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand can start collecting your bone tithe right now, this box will be dropping a little later for the rest of the world. November 20th 2021 – Unlikely, it’s too soon and we know we still have Shadow Throne coming this year. Killdakka, what a wonderful word to say out loud… Ork speech is poetry when you think about it. This box includes 20 Boyz, plus a Deffkilla Wartrike, your choice of Orky aeroplane, and a Big Mek. That’s lots of kill, and indeed dakka.

8 New Christmas 2022 Battleforces are Coming For Warhammer 40k

The real shame of this box is that Sisters tanks just don’t see much play. While Exorcists were a mainstay of Sisters armies prior to their 2021 codex, modern competitive forces rely much more on foot-slogging lists, potentially with the support of a rhino or two. That said, Immolators do see some use in good lists here and there – most recently at the North and South GT in a top 4 list, where taking 1-2 can give you a tough, mobile source of multi-melta shots, and a recent September GT-winning list featured an Exorcist, and neither are bad units. Beyond that, the Sacresants and battle sisters are must-haves in every Adepta Sororitas army and the Dogmata shows up in most, making this a box that’s great for new players and potentially still a good value for players looking to add to their army who don’t mind adding a couple of tanks. Final Verdict: Good Value The Rohan Stronghold comes with a veritable village of houses, as well as palisade walls and watchtowers which let you make your very own Rohan settlement. Including a whole carnival of weird and wonderful technological enhancements, this immensely customisable box can be built in so many different ways that it would be almost impossible to list them all. Including some trusty Skitarii infantry led by a Tech-Priest Manipulus, there are four units with two build options each – Sicarians, Serberys cavalry, Ptreraxii jump infantry, and a choice of either an Ironstrider Ballistarius or a Sydonian Dragoon. The possibilities are endless. A favourite treat of the Adepta Sororitas, when they aren’t praying, purging, training, or praying. The set also includes 1x Space Marine Infantry Transfer Sheet, 1x Primaris Character Transfer Sheet and 1x Primaris Vehicle Transfer Sheet. These kits come with 1x 90mm round base, 1x 75mm Ball Top Stem, 9x 40mm round bases, and 20x 32mm round bases. They are supplied unpainted and require assembly – we recommend using Citadel Plastic Glue and Citadel paints.

Five speedy Pteraxii, five stealthy Ruststalkers, and three Serberys Raiders make up the core of this battleforce, supported by the Ironstrider Ballistarii’s powerful cognis lascannons. Behind them marches a unit of 10 Skitarii Rangers and their Tech-priest Manipulus commander, ready to examine whatever it is that the Talon has recovered. A Psychomancer cryptek leads the force, with a unit of 10 Necron Warriors and three Scarab Swarms making up the durable centre. The real killing work falls to a Lokhust Heavy Destroyer, three Ophydian Destroyers, five Flayed Ones, and two huge Canoptek Doomstalkers. Many of these units recently received the CORE keyword as part of the Balance Dataslate , and enjoy a new lease of life**. Unfortunately, we don’t know for sure, but most rumors seem to agree that they are generally older sprues put into new boxes that are not selling well. Disproven Rumors & Unlikely ArmiesAlso, it’s interesting to note that Necrons in 2020 and Orks in 2021 were actually probably the newest released factions to grab a box (even though it had been months since their new codex dropped at that point). Update: Some prices have been revealed online. Both Valrak and Foyble have done a breakdown. (massive thanks to these hobby heroes). We have updated the article below and will continue to do so, but please treat these as indicative only, untl the prices have been formally revealed Savings wise, we’re once again looking at last year where we had anything from 25% – 37% in savings for these boxes versus buying the units individually at retail. That’s Nothing to sniff at! Remember previously, there are generally only four boxes for AoS, so the choices are slightly more limited and more pronounced for them. Where Do the Battleforce Contents Come From? With our annual New Year, New Army challenge* creeping closer, it’s a phenomenal opportunity to lay the groundwork on your next hobby project. And since these battleforces will be arriving in December, they’re perfect candidates for any Warhammer+ vouchers you’ve been earning this month .
